Me and Eric were discussing possible film ideas after Leviathan, and we ALWAYS came back to Code of "Con"duct. So we decided, what the heck, let's make a prequel... (don't kill me)
The story would be that of how Clarence and Thomas first got into the conning business. They are already friends when the story starts off. They are running a failing shoe business... One day, a customer runs off w/o getting his change. Thomas tries to give the money back. Clarence, realizing that they had just gotten easy money, stops Thomas. He tries, what would eventually become their first con. He places a false clearence tag. It works. Now, comes the big monologue.
Clarence: Look at these people, I bet that 90% of them aren't careful about their money. That is where the money is. That is where OUR money is.
Thomas: I don't know, Clarence. What if we get caught?
Clarence:C'mon Thomas, 10 yrs of selling shoes... and all we've got? A measly 60 bucks! Who knows what we can get in 7 months... maybe 650 dollars!
Thomas: 650 sounds too much for 2 people...
The movie would end on the lines that made CoCd famous...
Clarence: We're not criminals, we're con men
Oh, now I MUST write the script... I've inspired myself...

Hopefully, this encourages more people to consider sequels...
...and do the ideas you like, don't force yourself to make certain films because you think it's necessary; a good director is a happy director, and a happy director is also a director who has fun making his movies... not feeling like filmmaking is a chore...
This project has my full blessing. Keep on writing, but I also would like to get all the G-2 projects out of the way first. Once those are done, go right ahead with this one, because it does sound like another hit.

A PREQUEL? Damn! Well, OK, cuz the first one was great. Come to us with your full script and we'll do it (but I personally think this one is getting shelved till G-3)

Actually, since Yuki and I dont have much large roles in The Mind... same with Richie... then I can begin filming this, much sooner then planned

I love it. Sounds great and has an intersting story to tell. My one problem is it feels a little retread. We've already heard a lot of these lines so I'm worried about the characters providing something fresh.

I told Aniket to include the "650 dollars sounds like too much for 2 people" as a little reference to the original.
...hopefully, that won't turn out to be a problem. None of our other sequels have turned out to be carbon copies of the originals, so... (and besides, you've only seen little snippets)

Oh, and Aniket told me that my "Byron" character will return as the customer in the shoe repair store. I find their work "disgusting."

Haha, oh yes. Byron cameo, of course.

Does "Mr. Manvick" get a cameo too?

Sorry, Mr. Manvick will NOT be making an appearence. if you remeber, manvick is Byron's gaurd not his flunkey. he will remain at the work.

I've changed the title because it's more catchier and it relates to Code of ConDuct

I say we film this: 1) After "Inner Circle Pt. 1 and Pt. 2" 2) After "Productivity" 3) Perhaps the summer will work with us this time. Ensure that the dialog is fresh. Or you could have me write it! (Then again, I'll just corrupt the movie and make it violent. You write it.)

I say we film this: Only if the script isn't a carbon-copy of the original (in other words- doesn't follow the same formula and plot structure). There are other projects we can do using that time.
