Thanks to the program, GarageBand, and other advances in recording techniques... We are now capable of making a 100% original music video. And it can be done in 2 weekends. The first weekend would be used in recording the song. The second weekend would be used in filming the music video.
All the background music could be made w/ Garage Band and all the performers would have to do is vacuum track it

By "vacuum track", I assume you mean "lip-synch".
This sounds like a fun idea.

well, lip-synching is only good w/ the vocals. vacuum tracking deals w/ all instruments. It's like a the lip-synch of instruments

Oh, I get it- so it'll be a music video in the sense that we see "band shots", too.
Wow, this is sounding more like fun.

It's also fast wihch I like. Our inability to complete long projects may lead to a shift in focus towards swifter medium. Not that I want to make music videos forever (or even twice!) the five-seven minute medium might suit our abilities (or rather availabilities) better.

since we're not filming on wednesday, i might have a brainstorming/recording session instead... nothing too long. i just need a location... eric, is your house available?
furthermore... we need to find someone who has an adequate drum set... OR figure out how to make a mock one

I'm sure Richie would agree if I said let's do music for Shepard's War and make a track called "Rail to Perdition," shootout music for a railyard under the control of Combine, and set the gameplay of the levels to that. Make it sound like a train too, only more metallic and cold.

the thing we're trying to do is a typical music video w/ band shots

Uh, this is Dead Moose Inc, not MTV... I dunno, just seems a bit generic... It could work, just how are we going to do band shots?

you guys are doing a music video, eh? Well, depending on the song, you actually have a fair amount of options for the kind of music video you choose to make. You could do the typical kind with band-shots. What's also good is kind of making it like a musical short film, using the one song to direct what happens. let me know if you need more performers.

I'll have to get the facts confirmed with Aniket, but I think he said that he wanted a good part of the music video to have band shots.
