If the topic is just a random, fun topic, or is intended to leap into off-topic discussions, then place it in this SPAM forum.
However, if the topic in question is relevant (like, say, dealing with current events), then you can go ahead and post it in General.
Just remember that the moderators and myself have final say on whether it belongs in SPAM or not.

Absolutely not. I don't allow politics on this forum, period.

Just as a question, can I post that "Long but worth the read" essay here? I feel that some people need to read it. (Eric, I. Believe, and Bluesabre, I think you have seen it, but nobody else here...)

If it's what I think it is, then no- it's too political.

And also, what about the current illigal immigration debate? If it's going on schoolloop, then isn't the subject tame enough for this forum? Or is it still technically pollitical and therefore not discussable on this forum?

I don't care if it's being posted on School Loop. Political is political- whether I agree with you or not on the debate, kenny, is not the question (and my guess is that we do, indeed, agree with each other about it). Politics, on this forum, are something I look at from an objective standpoint, and the illegal immigration debate is most definitely political.
