www.cinematical.com/2007/12/11/cinematicals-25-lamest-of-2007/They have some pretty good ones, maybe some I disagree with. I did skip over every one that specifically highlighted a celebrity as "lame"; their #1 choice seems interesting considering their celebrity-bashing in other parts. They certainly have it right that the current trend of "torture porn" is lame, as are the stupid ever-changing rules for Best Foreign Film (my guess is, "Lust, Caution" was disqualified for being NC-17). They also have it right that the MPAA ratings are lame, as is the current stupid trend of unrated DVDs- although there's nothing new with that, "Beowulf" being rated PG-13 has to be the biggest ratings misfire in years. "300" was less R. [that being said, "Hostel: Part II" may deserve an NC-17 (I wouldn't know; I refused to see it), but I am getting sick of sex being treated as such an innocuous thing. "Lust, Caution" was a great film but very deserving of its rating] ...and, of course, the stupid Writers' Strike. Sorry, Cinematical. I take the opposite position- the writers are the ones being stupid. Wait a few years when internet downloads actually become something more for movies than a piracy opportunity.
