www.actorsbone.com/Shorts/index.html (winners get their films screened in Hollywood on Jan. 7th. Films are due by November 1) www.hilofilmfestival.com/ (Hi-Lo film festival- they claim they'll put up submission forms when they're ready. They're local (SF)) www.sfindie.com/home.htm (San Francisco Independent Film Festival- entries due by October 13 [thank goodness I shot multiple angles for that... um... "scene" in "Visions"]) I'm doing a link to official film festivals, because quite frankly, enough is enough- some of our films are worthy of film festival submission. I shall find more websites with film festival submissions. One thing that I want to happen before any of us graduates is to be able to have at least one of our movies on iMDb.

That is an ambitious and necessary goal. Once we can just hammer down a pattern, just get some preparation in, then we can really put together something of impressive quality.

Okay, SF Asian Film Festival is out- the form implies that my film does have to be themed around Asian-Americans, which "Visions" doesn't really emphasize (while, thematically, "My New Neighbor" or Alice Wu's wonderful G&L film "Saving Face" do very much). I might tweak it a couple of ways for film festival screening, but I am NOT going to change the film's thematic emphasis.
Just called up SF Indie about screening formats, but was forced to leave a message. I might e-mail them later.

That's not a bad idea (I think CoCd is very much festival-worthy), but as mentioned before, it would be good if the opening sequence were re-dubbed. It really isn't that appealing to see a movie that's subtitled in the language it speaks.

www.overcookedcinema.com/ These guys are apparently accepting FREE submissions until March 31st, then it costs $10. Due March 26th, must be 18 or older to submit (DAMMIT!), must be 21 or older to attend (double DAMMIT!) www.sfshorts.org/ It's $30 for students by March 17th. www.festival.atasite.org/ ATA Festival, $10 submission, due May 31st. 20 minute limit (maximum). www.berkeleyvideofilmfest.org/entry_form_2006.shtml Berkeley Video and Film Festival, due July 1. www.poppyjasperfilmfest.org/ Poppy Jasper Film Festival, "Art in 30 Minutes or Less".
