Give warnings if you're going to give spoilers of anything. I'm still reading "The Order of the Phoenix" (and I'm only 130 or so pages through it)- I don't care how long it's been out, I don't want to see any spoilers for it.
In fact, how about just creating separate topics for the individual books if you people are going to spoil it?

Wow I guess J.K. Rowling was not happy that the news was not reporting about Harry Potter anymore so she dropped the bomb shell. I not sure that the revelation adds or subtracts from the books but still the books are entertaining. The first two books are for children then the third book starts the series getting darker. Each book gets darker and darker until the seventh which is definitely written with adults not kids in mind. Okay I don't why I posted this because all of one have probably read the books and heard the news.

She did NOT drop the bombshell because the news was not reporting about HP. She's said that it was her plan the entire time, and she revealed it because it was asked, not because of publicity (because, you know, the books really need more publicity).

I do find it hard to believe about Dumbledore, and I half-believe that she did it just for more shock value (like some of the deaths in book 7), but the books definitely couldn't have more publicity.
Of course, time will tell if "Deathly Hallows" was really a fantastic novel or just making things end with a bang. What I can say is that it was definitely sloppy of her to tell us about half the characters and leave the other half needlessly ambiguous, and then reveal their details later in an IM. I forsee the paperback edition having these details reinstated, but I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't.

Anyways I watched the first three films before I started getting pissed off at how much they left out. I will just stick to reading them. For some reason it was the opposite with Lord of the Rings were I like the films and was glad that the films did not try to include anything. I guess LOTR books are too stuff much for me and too complex.
