The "1.5" version of it. I have a full-fledged vision for this one, and I want to shoot it on film... I just hope mum lets me do it on film. (she didn't allow it for "Fight Movie", she was concerned about shipping across the country, I don't see why it should change now)
And yeah, I have some guidelines as to how I want to make this film:
-The camera's silent, so is the film. I wanted to do a silent feature anyway, where the picture tells all the story. That means no written language, either. -I want to shoot and edit this on film. That's right, cut-and-splice, cut-and-splice, and then transfer that to video. -Because of no written words AT ALL, the way the credits are going to be done is this: If I have enough film left, I'll film the cast members, someone else films me behind a (video)camera, and then me in the director's cap calling "action" with a megaphone. (or one of those cup-thingies) This will be shown at the beginning of the film (of course), and ends with a blank white title card. (because there's NO written or spoken words, remember?) Oh yeah, and the first thing it opens with is that Dead Moose sculpture I made out of clay, on top of a gradient without the words "Dead Moose, Inc." -While this is part of my "park" trilogy, it does not contain the same main character as the first two. Hence, I can retain a behind-the-camera position and someone else can play the red-jacket character. -The musical background is the "park theme", and there's specific instructions on timing.
I would LOVE to have experience with the film format, and hence, this one would be PERFECT.

Ya know, if you want to convert "A Walk In The Park" in to a animated cartoon like you said you did, this would be, like, Uber easy to do. No words or talking. -MrMan

That would be " another walk in the park" This one, I want to shoot in Super 8mm with all its grainy glory. The other two in my "park" trilogy I want to wait until I get just the tools I want, and for this one, I want 8mm film. (I have the camera, just need the film to shoot it with)

Eric, you are OBSESSED with 8mm film. The rest of the whoreld went digital a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... (sry. couldnt resist) So when do you want me to write this? (or be a "special guest writer" as the case may be.)

Actually, this is my film. Absolutely no dialogue, I have it storyboarded and shit, the only thing I need to do with this one is film it! Basically, it's going to be an ultra-simplistic, dialogue-free corny little offbeat "love story".
Of course I'm obsessed with 8mm film! My uncle shot his samurai movies on 8mm film, and as much as I've heard about "digital getting the film look", that's NOT the only reason why I want to shoot on film. I want to get the experience with editing on film. (Richie, I KNOW you're going to pull up yet another of Robert Rodriguez's arguments against film here)
Yeah, I know everyone's gone digital. Only a few years ago, though. People were still operating on analogue back in 1999, myself included. Not too many people had converted to DVD, about the only digital technology they had was CDs. (and computers) There were still VCRs, audiotapes and VHS camcorders.
The film industry has NOT become completely digital, though! Plenty of productions are still shot on 35mm film (though they crapify it immensely with our scope films; funny, they didn't seem to have problems with anamorphic lenses 10 years ago), the amount of "films" shot on HD aren't as many as you'd think... at least, down in the studios. I personally cannot wait until I start shooting on film.
I'd be happy to shoot this on any sort of film format. If I shoot this on 16mm film, I'll be just as fine. But I will NOT shoot this on anything BUT film.

Nice rebuttal, Eric. You should join the MV debate team. Perhaps my disposition will improve if you stop EDITING MY POSTS...

Say.... How much would 8mm film cost, anyway?

$14 per roll (one roll is 3 minutes at 18fps (which is what my uncle's camera runs at), or 2.5 minutes at 24fps (I would prefer to shoot 24fps, but more than that, I would just like to shoot film)), then adding to the processing costs, it rounds out to $20 per roll. As for telecine (transferring film to video), it depends on where I do it.
This film would probably use up one roll (since it's quite short), though I'll probably buy two (just in case) if I ever got to filming this (all I need is the 8mm film). Yes, this project is still on my mind- and no, I won't do it on anything other than film.

I've renewed interest in the project- both of the remaining "park" films should take one day of shooting each. Just need to get the 8mm film, a good telecine lab, and plenty of 8mm splicing tape (I already have my uncle's splicing device, which makes cleaner cuts (instead of just plain cutting with scissors)).
Needed (besides the 8mm film, splices, a developing lab and a telecine lab)- -A "body double" for me (I want to operate the camera 100% of the time- the double doesn't have to be perfect. Just someone who looks slightly similar and with the red jacket and glasses) -A person to play as the girl videotaping the garbage cans

I take it that's a no. So I'm not doing a "body double...."

I don't think so; but then again, the availability of actors is so sparse that I just might have to take anyone. Since I can adjust this to make this a couple years before the events in "another walk in the park", I'll take someone who looks slightly similar to me, but can don the red jacket and glasses (I'm thinking of camera angles to get around the whole "body double" thing).
