Well, the subtitle test was, for the most part, successful- I successfully hacked in subtitles into test files for "Dudes: part duce". I might burn a DVD for demonstration on Thursday (provided there is a remote in the room with a subtitle button), but then again, I might try tweaking some more.
Perhaps I can make deluxe DVDs using DVDshIT! All I need is a few hacking tools!

deadmooseinc.tripod.com/id4.htmlI reframed "Dudes: part duce" for the DVD release, the main focus being on re-centering certain shots (not all had to be modified). Now, the hand throwing the pillow (see first screenshot) is barely (if at all) visible.

WAit, are we going to sell this DVD over the internet or to anyone? Or are you just going to give it away to people? I'm confused.

...just give it away to people- of course we're gonna sell it! Why do you think I'm so hard on all the unlicenced music and all that crap? Not just for the DVD release we're eventually gonna sell, but also because of film festivals (besides the one at our school)... and TV networks can't screen independent films that use unlicenced music.
The G-2 DVD that will come out when G-2 is finished (of course) is probably going to be a 2-disc set, and will be priced at $8.98 (US$ equivalent of 1000 Japanese yen), and I want to make this one heck of a special edition DVD.
I've just reframed awitp for DVD, recentering quite a few shots (I'll have comparisons up soon).

Ok. Also, selling DVDs and stuff can help for the "donations" for the Student Directors assoaciation. Maybe make a few bucks to help the club keep going......Hm.....I'm treasurer....So....I think I may start to do some researching for donations, people who will donate. But not ask, cause our club isnt' a club yet. Oh, well, starting sooner means I can finish later. Bon Voyage!

That was partly my intention, to put part of the profits from DVD into club donations. The rest will probably be devoted to film budgets (and possibly money to hold up a .com) deadmooseinc.tripod.com/id4.htmlawitp reframes up (below the "Dudes: part duce" captures).

Richie and I came up with re-dubbing "Fight Ultimatum" in Chinese (courtesy of Evan), with absolutely no attention whatsoever to the original dialogue. Given this, I figure, why not release them all together?
The plan, now, is to make this a 3-disc set, with everything originally planned for the 2-disc set, just with the "Fight Movie" disc added.
Due to this, I'm upping the price to $14, but considering what I'm planning to put into this, it's a bargain. If it won't sell online, I'm sure there's a following somewhere at good ole' MV. (and then I won't have to worry about shipping)

Wow. That's pretty good. How much? Do cast members get a discount?

The DVD set is selling for $14 (now due to the additional disc; that, and the cost of the 3-disc cases, the label, and the work into printing out the sleeve and booklet), but cast members do get the complete package for free.
Consider it as an "overdue salary".

Whoa... you're forgetting about the Soundtrack... Already we have 4 songs... and soon that's going to increase to 6 or 7

www.shop4tech.com/item2540.htmlThis is the kind of case I'm planning on having the set packaged in. Since it's already 3 discs, we can't have the soundtrack in the same case as the DVDs as originally planned. (the 4-disc cases don't have a place to put an insert booklet) I don't want to up the selling price any more than it is- perhaps a package deal? (the booklet is probably going to be more the size of a CD case booklet than that of a DVD) Putting it in this kind of case ( www.shop4tech.com/item1253.html ) might be easier, but I prefer the DVD keep cases to CD jewel cases. On the other hand, I just might have to do that, even though I'd prefer not to (though it can fit 4 discs and a booklet, and is half the price of the 3-disc keep case). Essentially, it should be like a Criterion DVD, but at an affordable price (look up "criterion" in the dictionary, and the bulk of their discs is just as the name implies- top-of-the-line video and audio quality (okay, maybe we won't be able to achieve THAT) and extras more about quality than quantity (none of these discs have extras that are totally meaningless- it's either good extras or no extras at all); the downside to this line of discs is that they come to be quite expensive). Needless to say, Criterion was around since the age of laserdisc- these are the guys who invented "audio commentary" (and perhaps "special features").
