Yep. So, when we have time after finishing the movies and BEFORE STARTING THE DVD SET, I want to shoot the opening sequence of "Productivity," which would also be the trailer. It's a simple sequence really. Easy job. Script for that sequence is set in stone. Scene 0 will NOT be revised AT ALL, because that's the trailer and the opening of the film.

Don't worry; chances are, the work that I'll start doing on the DVD set will be recording the commentaries and making all the interviews necessary before starting to program the menus and things.
Of course we'll shoot a "Productivity" trailer- we want more than just a teaser for "The Inner Circle" for future projects to put on this set.

Very true. I'd like to see a trailer for "Inner Circle," because I want to know how well a mafia film and us low-life, penniless filmmakers will mix... (We're not poor. Just underfunded.)

Finally resumed on animation for "Ambulance". I now have 44 frames of animation done (not counting the title), not all of them are completed. Currently, I'm working on the "introduction" of our second character in this grand ensemble piece (I've completed the first guy), and I've used some techniques which I haven't utilized before. (the first guy, I used in-betweeners. the second, I drew a curve on one piece of paper, plotted the points of where I wanted the guy to go, and used those points as a reference- how to simplify that, I have no idea.) Right now, I only have the basics of the second guy down- a circle with an "X" in it (to accurately plot his position in the various frames), which will serve as his head, now that I'm satisfied with how the pencil test turned out.
...at this rate, it should be done by... uh... I don't know when... I'm hoping for "by the end of the month", but my goal is at least 50%. (it's amazing how much work goes into a less-than-one-minute-long animation (this isn't even Aardman, where 3 seconds of footage gets produced in a day))

Stick figures or more realistic figures?

Still the classic stick figures from awitp... just smaller in size to fit the ambulance.

Cool. Should I help animate the characters? I could do what you can in the same period with a little more detail.

Something I might add as a DVD-ROM feature:
PSP-formatted versions of select movies- -Fight Movie: a pilot (Version A) -Fight Movie: a pilot (Version B) -Fight Movie II -Fight Movie 1.5 -Fight Movie 3 -Fight Movie 4 -The Last Fight Movie in the Universe -Fury of the Blade -another walk in the park -Ambulance -Weight Lifting -Inakamichi (Visions) -Code of "Con"duct -Leviathan -Dudes -Dudes: part duce -The Mind -SCHEDULE
This will be on the third disc, since it has plenty of space left after its respective films are placed on it. However, I do not think it has enough space to support alternate screen formats (meaning, for the respective directors of the various 4x3 films, decide whether you want the 4x3 or 16x9 version to be on the PSP file- remember, the PSP monitor is 16x9). I'd put iPod video versions, but I want to wait on that, to see what their specs will be for widescreen iPod video.

Currently, I'm thinking of another modification to this DVD set-
Dual-layer DVD+Rs do not work in my burner (even though it boasts the technology- the computer froze every time I instructed it to burn a *shudder* dual-layered disc! Oh the horror of actually having to DO YOUR JOB [/rant]), but double-sided single-layer DVD-Rs do exist (though I'd probably have to order them online). I'm thinking of putting the G-2 stuff on one double-sided disc, and the "Fight Movie" stuff on a single-sided DVD-R.
As it stands, though, double-sided single-layer discs are slightly cheaper ($3 apiece, while a package of 3 dual-layered DVD+Rs is $10), and should be compatible with more consumer DVD players (the goal is for people to view these films on their TVs (and perhaps, their widescreen HDTVs, if they have them)- not just their computer monitors).

Actually, scratch the double-sided disc idea. These discs are actually a lot harder to come by than I thought, and are much, MUCH more expensive and come through various unknown merchants. For now, I'm just sticking with the 3-disc DVD set like originally planned.
At the current rate we're going, this set should be out by the end of Summer this year! Already!

www.journeyed.com/itemDetail.asp?T1=87601033...yes, AGAIN, I'm onto that shitty pipedream of some of our films being in 5.1, but this time, the most possible way of achieving it yet- at these student prices, upgrades to Premiere Pro 1.5 are at a measly $199.98 (less than 30% of the original price). I do understand Pro 1.5 was used previously, with a trial version editing for "Code of 'Con'duct", and with not-so-satisfactory results. This time, though, by actually buying the software, more documentation should come with it, as well as more functions (perhaps figuring out what is behind that letterboxing error that occurred with the original edition of CoCd (the software took 7 hours to render the film, and its 1.33:1 aspect ratio was squished to 1.50:1)). However, this software is more future-proof than our current Premiere 6.5 (which this can upgrade from), in that it is compatible with HD video. Pro 1.5 is more complex, but like any other program, takes some learning and practice to get used to (and After Effects plugs into it). Just a thought. I might be spending some money out of my own pocket for this (as well as DVDlab software for the authoring). Some of the films that might be remixed, if this dream is realized (note that all of the following will have alternate stereo mixes included): -another walk in the park (5.1 or original 3.0) -Fight Movie 3 (5.1 or original 2.0) -Fight Ultimatum (including the possible "Fight Movie 4" cut) (5.1 or original 2.0) -SCHEDULE (5.1 or 2.0) -Leviathan (a possibility- obviously, only the musical score (which is only at the very beginning and very end of the film) would be affected. How the original 2-channel source would be adjusted and split, I have no idea. It might have to be re-recorded (for the 5.1 mix only)) I have looked at the other films. The rest of the "Fight Movie" series would not benefit from surround-sound mixing, being that none have any portions that would utilize surround effects ("Fight Movie II" was made from mono elements, "Fight Movie: a pilot" uses exclusively production sound, and "Fight Movie 1.5" and LFMITU have no action for the surrounds since all of it takes place in the front). Since Pro 1.5 can output Dolby AC-3 (Dolby Digital, in other words) encoding, I think it could also configure how many channels you can make a track. Plenty of disc space can be saved and reserved for a better-compressed picture by having monaural films be encoded in 1.0 AC3 instead of 2.0 uncompressed PCM (such as "Fight Movie: a pilot", "Fight Movie II", "Visions", and possibly "Code of 'Con'duct").

Yes, just about every cast member featured in projects from G-0 to G-2 will get one of these DVD sets. I am also considering plans to:
-Give the DVDs as a donation gift; it's simple- Donate money to the site, and if a certain amount is donated, get a free DVD. -Split the three discs into their own individual, jewel-cased packages (either way, it would be in jewel case- if it were multi-disc, it would be in a 4-disc jewel. Single-disc would be in standard-size jewel (not the thinner ones that frequently appear in CD-R packs nowadays)), for $5 each, or a $14 package deal. This is in case some of the films get so incredibly delayed that other discs are already completed, so release those.
I am planning to forgo the PSP (or iPod video) format DVD-ROM bonus. If this ends up being released in the individual plan, the soundtrack album will be released with G-2 Disc 2, since alone it does not have enough materials on it.
As well, the 16x9 version of "Code of 'Con'duct" would be moved to Disc 1, with the original 4x3, though it would hurt the compression quite a bit.
